Bloggy blog blog ...
As I am gearing to release The Tales of Whimsy: Ep 1 the concept of promotion weighs heavily on my mind.
Self promotion is something that is hard for me to understand and then also deal with. From spending a bit of money for advertising on something like a Project Wonderful ad to simply tweeting a couple times a day letting people know that "I have a new thing" and "you should be interested in it".
Sometimes I worry that if I use my social media sites like twitter and Facebook to much in one day somebody might get annoyed with me continually blathering about my thing. I however find that when I do talk about my projects I would say about 3 times a day... no body has ever said anything negative in fact most people actually don't notice. Then I also sometimes put it into the thought process of If somebody noticed and got really annoyed that I am trying to get people to look at my work to the point they stop following or liking me... how much of a fan could they actually be? Why should it bother me if I lost a follower on that level of fanship/friendship.
Also somehow I find I can get my friends to go and view any comic, watch any youtube video, or listen to any album accept my own. It always feels like a struggle to get them to take the few minutes to get my thing. But if there is a video of Johnny Depp slipping on a banana they are going to jump on that so fast and retweet or share it.
The spending money for advertising is hard because I do not have much money to spend. Sure I will get about 100 extra viewers a day when I am placing ads on sites like Nedroid or A Softer World for roughly 5 to 6 dollars a day but most do not come back. Which the idea of spending money to amuse 1 person 1 time is not as satisfying as the thought of having somebody appreciate what I have done to come back once or twice a week as I post new comics. I don't think that is the case for all the times I post comics but I would guess it is the case of most times.
Then we come into Google Analytics It has numbers and graphs and every once in a while for seemingly no reason I get a huge number jump in viewers that I cannot fathom why based on the information given to me.
And these are the things I have to think about for Dumb as a Mug and now The Tales of Whimsy. Part of me thinks tToW will be easier to get people to go to do to the fact that it is story based... but who knows? I suppose we will find out.

A reality tv show audience held captivated by entertainment… and enough C4 to blow up every and anything within 100 yards of this show if the jokers plan happens to backfire. ho ho ho hahahaHAHAHA
What am I referring to you ask? why the answer is simple Superboobs: A Super Hero Burlesque the new Gorilla Tango Burlesque - Provocative Parody For The Discerning Nerd show featuring a sleuth of your favorite Heros against The Joker and Harley Quinn as their latest scheme unfurls right before your very eyes.
The show is highly comedic as I have come to expect from the nerd based burlesque shows at the Gorilla Tango which plays especially well with the Joker and Harleys… unique relationship with each other and the heros.
The burlesque numbers showcase the Jokers plans to defeat each hero in a unique way based on whichever hero she is up against.
At the end of the show much like any reality television the Joker lets you vote for who you would like to win Good or Evil.
Superboobs is playing at the Gorilla Tango Theatre Saturdays at 10:30pm
